Awesome

Munki talks about this too much. Here is an outlet for his enthusiasm.

Awesome indeed, damn shame I h8 the game now, I burnt out. Oh and the whole free thing, naturally there's a catch 22 somewhere in there, BUT, it also smells of desperation, they got a breath of air with Shadowlands, I heard nothing about Alien Invasion, and with EQ2, WoW, and CoH out, I'm sure that did a number on their subscriptions.
I will enthrall you with my Puerto Rican voodoo love charms.

"This unique move will allow us to test important new business models prior to announcing future online games," said Trond Arne Aas, President and CEO of Funcom.
Translation:

"AO is dying. We need to do whatever we can to retain any sort of playerbase while it still lasts. Back to the drawing board for the next game..."

The catch (catch 22? What you smokin, ST?) is just that you can't use the expansions and it's only good for a year.

Shouldn't AO be ending soon? It was supposed to have a finite story, wasn't it?

Yeah it was...actually originally it was supposed to have a finite timeline...only go on for 3 years i thought it was with the clanners winning in the end. Kinda lame really, especially b/c they didn't really do a whole lot to maintain the storyline (at least from the Omni point-of-view).

There was a story? Well shit, I've been missing out. All this time I thought the story was "Find the miniature pyramid item in a random building in Broken Shores."

Yeah there was a story. They had CG movies, events and everything. But that faded away fast. I'd re-open my account for kicks but I'm done with the game, and I dont remember what email i put in after I quit.
