Should we have separate dedicated threads?

Should we have separate dedicated threads?

Postby Feaduin » Tue Oct 02, 2012 12:35 pm

After seeing the Ascalonion Catacomb thread go a little ka ka when the topic veered far away from the subject of AC, I thought maybe there should be a series of threads to discuss each dungeon separately. And maybe threads for each profession as well?

I wouldn't bother. This place is really only a "rescource" for the regulars. It's impossible for us to not go off topic. And besides, all the profession threads are separate for the most part!

Well we should at least have a thread for each dungeon so we can easily find and add info specific to the 3 EM paths. Story mode is easy and self explanatory. Its the EMs that need the hints.

Yea, I"ll be honest, that kind of 'structured' discussion approach has *never* worked here. We meander when we talk and a lot of the time we end up somewhere totally different.

There are tons of 'guide' type resources and websites that cater to that. I just don't think Grog is like that. I think it would be a lot of threads that just get cluttered and ignored. We tried that with the Guides and War Room threads a long time ago, and simply put that didn't work.

What COULD be a useful thing, if you would want to create it, start it / maintain it, would basically be an "info link" thread. Basically, you could link to guides and resources for dungeons, class builds, whatever. And we could centralize it in one thread.
