It varies for sure. If you just do crit path story quests, you can conceivably be ready to leave the starter planet at an under-leveled level 7. Most people will leave around level 9 or 10. It's hard to say how long that takes on a natural play through, but I would wager it's in the six hour range.

6 hours of my life I'll never get back?! Have they learned nothing? You should be able to drag me to an instance at level 1 fresh off the character creator and let me sit at the entrance and mooch exp at an increased rate. Content is for noobs.

6 hours seems about right. Assuming you get groups for the heroic. Which should be zero problem at launch.
Dog carcass in alley this morning, tire tread on burst stomach. This city is afraid of me. I have seen it's true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "Save us!"...

...and I'll look down, and whisper "no."

Looks like a new press embargo is about to drop today at 12 EST. Testers are still under NDA, but there should be a slew of new articles on various gaming websites!

Here's a preview from IGN on what they'll be talking about:

Here's a list of all of the articles

Lol, media embargo lifted the day before Blizzcon.

I love how cold and calculating product PR can be.

WoW's next expansion: With the Lich King gone, Onyxia, Hakkar, and Kael'Thas have teamed up and taken over Naxxramas.

Nope. To make Sord happy, it's gonna be the Mists of Pandaria.

And they'll add catgirls.

Catgirls? I'd rather see robot maids.

They'll let ANYONE in these days! :D Seriously get to downloading, you'll love it. Assuming they actually ya know get the servers online. Been down all day I'm told. I just tried to get in and the word "play" is greyed out.

I got one for this weekend too. Damon did not. (Lulz) However, I don't think I want to jump into it. I think I want to wait until it comes out to play it.

That's just the server location. The only location that matters for testing is your continent.

I think Fea2 and I will be the only ones going into the game completely fresh due to beta unluckiness.

I personally could care less about spoilers or anything like that. Honestly, what I'm most excited about is having access to the tester forums. It's a relief to be able to read real feedback from people actively playing the game.

There's been almost no "real" information given about the game so far, at least as far as I could find. Nothing like the GW2 class break downs that Damon posted. To be able to see the status of the classes, as of the current beta build is really helpful. Which classes are balanced, which are still broken, etc... that's all pretty key to picking which class to play (for me at least). I've really wanted to narrow down my class choice, but without even seeing a full talent tree, it's been pretty much impossible to do that.

Here's some REAL feedback... enjoy not having a working GTN or Mail server all weekend. Oh yeah, Marauder's are a worthless choice in comparison to Juggernauts. :D Since Skyrim is out tomorrow I'll probably just wait till TOR launches to play anymore. Having not leveled any characters past 30 most of the game will still be fairly fresh when it does launch. Everyone will play every class till at least level 10 though. Trust me it's worth it just for the background stories.

While TOR isn't perfect, I can definitely say that after the beta weekend my WoW account will be permanently inactive!

If you can put up with some 3k+ queues and crashing servers, the open beta stress test is Thanksgiving weekend!

Well now that I'm FULLY engrossed into finding all of The Riddler's clues in Arkham City, I get my invite.... along with all the other rabble.

So... I guess I'm going to be the laptop TOR tester for the guild I suppose. I have a custom fan control software and a laptop cooling stand with a massive 8" fan. I hope this is enough to cool off the load on the GFX card. We'll find out next week I guess.

Naw, I play off a laptop too ;)

As long as I have a fan on or my house is cool enough (which isn't a problem in winter) I don't have any issues. Course i do use a cooling stand as well.
