Feather's Fashions

Postby Lightfeather » Sat Aug 23, 2003 5:09 pm

Here is a list of everything I can make. Printer Friendly Version

Feather's Fashions
My skill level is Domestic Arts I-IV, Novice Tailor, Casual I-IV,
Field Wear I-IV, Formal Wear I-IV and Tailor Tech I-IV
(In short I'm a MASTER TAILOR! Yay!!)

Prices are base level. Most boosts are 500 creds per +
but some that use hard to find resourses are around 1000 creds per +.
When an article of clothing indicates that it takes 3S that means it
need 3 factory crate synth cloths to create. If the clothes are to be
boosted they need 3 BOOSTED factory crate synth cloths. This will not
triple the boost number. The boost will be the same if I use 1 synth cloth
or if I use 10.

S = Synthetic Cloth RF = Reinforced Fiber Panel
BB = Boosted by Both NB = Not Boostable
The preceding number indicates how many cloths it takes.

If I were pricing I would probably take two factors into consideration Fea-

#1- how much does the item cost you in the long run...

#2 how popular is the item...

Cause a skirt might cost 250c to make but never sells for more then 150c...

Just my thoughts...

I'm SO no good at this... I just sort of only make what's popular and charge some magic figure I pull out of my ass. If I felt that I worked a long time to make all that crap and I was irritated when I was done I charge a lot =P My pricing methods need work me thinks...

If you're just looking at making as much $$$ as you can its all about supply and demand. Charge more for the clothes and colors that people really want. Also think about whether you'd rather just make a few expensive things or a ton of cheap things. You don't just want to make popular stuff because you might be the only one with some weird piece of clothing in that color and you can charge a lot for it. Pricing stuff is fun, I'll help you :)

What do you have fun doing as tailor? Is it just throwing the 10 things your factory just cranked out on your vendor for a lot of money or is it talking to someone and making them the perfect outfit? I think it would be cool if you sold sets of clothes as outfits, can you sell a container with stuff in it on a vendor?

Yea I can... but people can't see the clothes when its in the container. You have to describe it in the description part. Lola does that. I only use my factory for components... it makes my metal fasteners and synthcloths and occationally shoe soles.

I love crafting for someone but I hate working with my limited colors... I can never make exatally what they want so It's more of a frustration. Right now I love making my new items and seeing what sells on the bazaar. The emails that I get through out the day (and when I log in) are like the #1 thing I love about tailoring right now. DING! you've got mail!

Woo! the shirt sold! Yippee!

Another thing you might want to do is travel around to the other tailors on Tatooine and see what they charge. You don't want to be selling something for 1000 credits when the guy down the street sells it for 100 credits. That's just bad business.

From the times I've dealt with tailors on our server, they seemed so busy that I wouldn't be surprised if they welcomed some competition just to ease their workload. A few ideas that must have stuck in my head during a nap in economics....

Yea, I've been keeping my eyes out but so far I only really have prices in my notebook on the really expencive items or things that I have actually bought off other tailors. Coffee has a good price list going but I think I am guilty of underselling rather than over pricing =/

Hey Feather :)
Those Toga outfits you made were quite popular out in public, some girl liked mine so she offered to buy it off me... Maybe you should start selling Toga sets! Great for EVERY PARTY!
Ok, just a random thought...

Hey feather I found another tailoring website to torture yourself with. The prices seem really low though. Oh I checked on the color thing and you don't get red until the third box of the color tree. so munki can go wtfomgstkfcbbqh57.

Yea, those prices seem low to me to but I LOVE the resource chart.

I will probably keep my prices the same and my methodology the same when I tailor. I mean it takes a fricken long time to make an outfit when I'd rather be hanging out with you guys being a dink. That's worth me raising my prices =) Hehe.

But when someone bothers to run ALL the way out to my shop I never talk money. I always just craft and craft until they are happy. I love it when they leave happy. When they ask about price I just ack confused and tell them that because they came all they way out here just to see me, I'll take a donation of whatever they can afford. OMG some people are SO generous =) The more than make up for the people who don't have that much money.

But they tell people that I'm nice to them... and that's worth it.

hey feather I found this site that has all the clothes that can be made with bio engineered mojos. Apparently anything that takes factory components and pants don't work right now. But they should after the next patch.

bio components tailoring guide

Oh and I went and found another site with the skills that has all the tissues boost and what the skills do.

Bio engineer tissues

+intimidation & warcry
makes these stick more often and last longer
intimidation cuts melee damage against you in half while it lasts.
warcry cuts melee speed against you in half while it lasts.
Good for brawlers.

+entertainment wound healing
makes entertainers heal more wounds giving them more xp
Good for all entertainers trying to level up their wound healing tree.

+injury and wound treatment
each heal from stimpack or woundpack heals for more.
Good for medics.

+melee defense Every 2 points of this is an extra 1% a melee enemy will miss you.
Great for brawlers, good for anyone who gets beat on.

+bleeding defense no real effect atm supposed to be fixed next patch to do something.

+camoflauge less chance for high level stuff to see through camo.
Good for rangers.

+cover not really noticeable, makes cover more effective. (adds ranged defense and time before mob notices you)
Good only for riflemen.

There are some other tissues but they take milk so nobody knows what they do and even if they did wouldn't be able to make them.

As for pricing bio engineer clothing the only thing iI've ever heard as a guideline is an extra 500 credits per + on the clothes
Why are pirates pirates?
They just AAAARRRRRR!
